Dr James Telfer is a compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care to the community of Stanthorpe, Australia. Dr Telfer completed his medical education at Flinders University, graduating in 2003. During his studies, he pursued his interest in rural healthcare by undertaking a Queensland Health Rural Scholarship, which focused his early career on serving regional communities. Following his graduation, he completed his internship in Mackay, gaining valuable clinical experience across various medical disciplines. Dr Telfer has also been actively involved in medical education, sharing his knowledge and expertise by instructing and mentoring the next generation of Rural Generalist trainees.

Throughout his career, Dr Telfer has developed a diverse range of clinical interests, with a particular focus on Mental Health, Paediatrics, and Emergency Medicine. His commitment to healthcare extends beyond his local practice; he has volunteered his medical skills internationally, providing clinical support and education in Vanuatu. During this time, he worked in paediatric care and emergency medicine, reflecting his dedication to improving health outcomes in underserved regions and his belief that sharing medical knowledge is vital to sustainable healthcare.
