Dr James Hunt

Dr James Hunt is a highly skilled Consultant Gastroenterologist who provides evidence-based, ethical, and compassionate care to his patients. He is dedicated to delivering expert medical guidance, ensuring that complex clinical concepts are explained clearly and reassuringly. With a focus on patient comfort and comprehensive care, Dr Hunt manages a wide spectrum of gastrointestinal and hepatological conditions.

Dr Hunt completed his undergraduate studies, obtaining a Bachelor of Science before graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Flinders University in 2007. He undertook his specialist gastroenterology training across several major Australian clinical centres, gaining diverse clinical exposure. In 2014, he was awarded his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. To further refine his expertise, he completed a dedicated fellowship in oesophageal motility and reflux studies in 2014.

In his clinical practice, Dr Hunt has a particular interest in motility disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, swallowing disorders, and inflammatory bowel disease. He is also highly experienced in colorectal cancer screening and surveillance, as well as the management of liver, biliary tract, and pancreatic disorders. Dr Hunt is fully accredited to perform key diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and capsule endoscopy, ensuring his patients receive precise and thorough diagnostic evaluations.
