Dr Jacob De Looze

Dr Jacob De Looze is a highly qualified and dedicated Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He provides comprehensive, evidence-based specialist care for patients experiencing a wide range of oral, facial, and jaw conditions. Known for his reassuring and professional approach, Dr De Looze is committed to delivering safe and effective treatments tailored to each patient's unique needs. He works collaboratively with Dentists, Orthodontists, and General Practitioners to ensure coordinated and expedited care.

Dr De Looze is a dual-qualified specialist, holding degrees in both medicine and dentistry. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine from the University of Newcastle in 2002, followed by a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and a Graduate Diploma of Dentistry from Queensland in 2009. He completed extensive hospital-based surgical training, including emergency medicine and surgical roles in major hospitals across Australia and the United Kingdom. He then completed a specialist training programme in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and in 2013, he was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. To further his expertise, Dr De Looze completed advanced post-fellowship training in Head and Neck Oncology and Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Replacement Surgery. He is an active member of the professional community, serving as the Secretary of the Queensland Branch of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

In his clinical practice, Dr De Looze manages a broad spectrum of complex conditions, ranging from corrective jaw surgery to facial reconstruction. He is highly skilled in performing dentoalveolar procedures, dental implant surgery, and the management of facial trauma and oral pathology. Alongside his clinical work, Dr De Looze is deeply committed to medical education and surgical training. He holds public appointments where he serves as a Supervisor of Maxillofacial Surgical Training, actively mentoring and facilitating the development of future Registrars and Surgeons.
