Dr I-Ferne Tan

Dr I-Ferne Tan is a highly qualified Gynaecologist, Fertility Specialist, and Reproductive Surgeon based in Sydney. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive, and patient-centred care to women and couples navigating reproductive health and fertility journeys. Dr Tan has a particular interest in minimally invasive medicine, utilising advanced keyhole surgical techniques to ensure optimal outcomes with minimal pain, scarring, and recovery time. Her clinical focus spans all aspects of reproductive health, including the management of complex gynaecological conditions and the delivery of tailored fertility treatments.

With a strong commitment to evidence-based care, Dr Tan offers a wide range of treatments for conditions such as endometriosis, adenomyosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). She is highly skilled in advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures, being one of the few specialists in Australia trained to perform awake hysteroscopy to assess and treat intrauterine issues without general anaesthetic. Additionally, she provides comprehensive fertility support, including fertility planning, egg and embryo freezing, and assisted reproductive technologies, helping patients make informed decisions with confidence.

Dr Tan completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Monash University in Melbourne, followed by a Master of Reproductive Medicine at the University of New South Wales. In 2018, she was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG). To further her expertise, she completed an international Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery in Singapore. Dr Tan is an active member of several professional bodies, including the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery Society, the Society of Endometriosis and Uterine Disorders, and the Fertility Society of Australia and New Zealand. She also contributes to the medical community by mentoring trainees and serving as an Honorary Lecturer.
