Dr Michele Batey

Dr Michele Batey is a highly experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who has been in private practice on Sydney’s North Shore for more than 20 years. Over this time, she has delivered more than 3,000 babies and is known for her calm, caring manner and her ability to build strong rapport with her patients.

She has particular expertise in pregnancy care for women over the age of 35 and is especially committed to supporting women who have experienced previous birth trauma, helping them work toward a more positive birth experience. In her practice, Dr Batey places great emphasis on shared decision-making, involving women and their partners in every stage of care to ensure a safe and satisfying birth experience.

Dr Batey graduated in Medicine with Honours from the University of Sydney, where she was awarded the prize in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She completed specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Royal North Shore Hospital, gaining her Fellowship in 2002, and undertook an Advanced Pelvic Surgery Fellowship at North Shore Private Hospital. She also holds a Masters of Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology) from the University of Sydney, which enables her to critically appraise research and provide care that is evidence-based and tailored to each patient.

She has been a Visiting Medical Officer at North Shore Private Hospital and The Mater Hospital since 2003, and at Royal North Shore Hospital since 2005.
