Dr George Condous

Dr George Condous is a highly distinguished Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who specialises in gynaecological ultrasound and advanced endosurgery. He is widely recognised for his expertise in the non-invasive diagnosis and surgical management of complex conditions such as endometriosis. Throughout his career, Dr Condous has been at the forefront of clinical innovation, having established pioneering acute gynaecology services that integrate expert sonographic evaluation at the initial point of patient contact. His clinical practice focuses on providing comprehensive, reassuring, and evidence-based care for women experiencing early pregnancy complications and complex gynaecological issues.

Dr Condous completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of Adelaide before relocating to London to undertake specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) in 1999 and later completed a Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of London. Upon returning to Australia, he completed a Laparoscopic Fellowship and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG). He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG). Dr Condous holds prominent leadership roles in several international medical organisations, serving as the Vice President of the World Federation of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (WFUMB), a Board Member of the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery (AGES) Society, and an Ambassador for the World Endometriosis Society (WES). He is also a past President of the Australasian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM).

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Condous is a dedicated academic and researcher, holding a position as a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. His research interests include the management of ectopic pregnancies, pregnancies of unknown location, miscarriage prediction, and the diagnostic accuracy of transvaginal ultrasound for deep endometriosis. He has published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals and has edited multiple textbooks on gynaecological ultrasound. Through his academic appointments and leadership of international collaborative research groups, Dr Condous continues to advance the global understanding of gynaecological imaging and minimally invasive surgery, ensuring his patients benefit from the latest scientific developments.
