Dr Frank Chang

Dr Frank Chang is a highly qualified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who provides comprehensive care to patients in South Perth, Western Australia. With dual qualifications in both medicine and dentistry, Dr Chang is uniquely equipped to manage complex conditions affecting the mouth, jaws, face, and neck. His clinical practice encompasses a broad range of surgical interventions, with a particular focus on delivering patient-centred, reassuring, and precise care. He is dedicated to helping patients achieve optimal oral health and facial function through tailored treatment plans.

Dr Chang completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Otago University in 2003. Following his initial dental training, he worked as a Dental House Surgeon in Auckland and subsequently served as a Senior Dental Officer in New South Wales. Driven to expand his surgical capabilities, he went on to obtain his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Auckland in 2009. Dr Chang then relocated to Perth to undertake advanced specialist training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Upon completing this rigorous programme, he was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, FRACDS(OMS).

In addition to his private clinical practice, Dr Chang is deeply committed to the advancement of his field through education and research. He serves as a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Western Australia and is actively involved in training the next generation of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Specialists through appointments at major public teaching hospitals. He also contributes to the wider medical community as a Reviewer for multiple peer-reviewed scientific journals. Dr Chang has a special interest in the surgical management of temporomandibular joint disorders, facial trauma, orthognathic surgery, and obstructive sleep apnoea. His expertise also extends to dentoalveolar surgery, oral implantology, and oral pathology.
