Dr Fiona Permezel is based at Neurology Network Melbourne. She specialises in movement disorders and is trained in the advanced management of complex Parkinson's cases including the use of apomorphine, duodopa and DBS programming. She is also trained in botulinum toxin therapy for dystonia and has a keen interest in this field.
Dr Permezel graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2013. Prior to this, she studied mathematics and physics, as well as psychology. She then completed general medicine and neurology training at the Austin and Northern Hospitals, followed by advanced neurology training at the Austin and Royal Hobart Hospitals. She completed her specialist training in movement disorders (Parkinson's and associated diseases, tremor, dystonia, chorea).
She is currently undertaking a PhD at Monash University working on a study that looks at both Parkinson's disease brain networks and predictors of early Parkinson's disease.
