About Neurosciences Queensland

Neurosciences Queensland (NSQ) is an international centre of excellence for movement disorders and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS). Based in Spring Hill, NSQ features a dedicated multidisciplinary team with specialised expertise in movement disorders, neuropsychiatry, and a dedicated neurophysiology department.

With over 1,300 DBS procedures performed, NSQ’s specialists deliver advanced, patient-centred care, underpinned by ongoing research, clinical trials, and regular publications through strong collaborations with the University of Queensland, Griffith University, ACU, QBI, QIMR, and other international and domestic institutions. 

The clinic provides diagnosis, treatment, and management for a wide variety of neurological and neuropsychiatric conditions, including:

  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Essential tremor
  • Cervical dystonia
  • Tourette’s syndrome
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Botulinum toxin-responsive conditions, including TMJ disorders, migraine, and hyperhidrosis
  • Headache and migraine
  • Peripheral nerve disorders and neuropathies

As one of the most experienced DBS teams in the world, NSQ specialises in advanced therapies for Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, dystonia, OCD, and Tourette’s syndrome. NSQ was the first in the Asia Pacific to implant next-generation DBS technology, enabling remote neuromodulation and global patient care.
