Dr Eli Shmerling

Dr Eli Shmerling is a dedicated General Paediatrician and Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrician who provides comprehensive care for infants, children, and adolescents. In his clinical practice, Dr Shmerling manages a broad spectrum of paediatric concerns. His areas of expertise encompass general paediatric issues such as feeding and growth difficulties, unsettled babies, sleep disturbances, toileting troubles, and respiratory and allergy conditions. He is also highly experienced in managing complex developmental and learning disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), developmental delays, and intellectual disabilities. Additionally, Dr Shmerling provides vital support for adolescent health and wellbeing, addressing mental health challenges and eating disorders, as well as coordinating ongoing care for children with chronic health conditions.

Dr Shmerling completed his medical degree at Monash University. He then undertook extensive specialist training in General Paediatrics across several major metropolitan and rural health services, including serving as Chief Resident Medical Officer at a leading paediatric hospital in Melbourne. His diverse training background includes working with complex cases in Aboriginal health services and youth support programmes. To further his expertise, he spent extended periods focusing on adolescent medicine and community child health, ensuring a well-rounded foundation for his paediatric practice.
