Dr David Richards

Dr David Richards is a highly accomplished and compassionate General Practitioner who is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centred healthcare. With a collaborative approach to medicine, he prioritises the long-term well-being of his patients, working closely with individuals and families to achieve optimal health outcomes. His practice is built on a foundation of primary prevention, aiming to identify and address potential health issues before they develop into more serious conditions.

Throughout his career, Dr Richards has developed a diverse range of clinical interests, with a particular focus on preventative medicine, translational genomics, and nutritional genomics. He believes in viewing health on a continuum, utilising advanced concepts such as carotid ultrasound and genomic insights to create personalised care models. His clinical expertise also spans paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, immunology, and psychology, allowing him to offer a holistic and well-rounded approach to family medicine. He is particularly skilled in managing chronic diseases, conducting cardiovascular risk assessments, and performing minor surgical procedures, including skin checks, excisions, and contraceptive device insertions and removals.

Dr Richards graduated from London University in 1984, having completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) alongside an Honours Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Human Genetics and Immunology. To further support his broad clinical practice, he has obtained several postgraduate qualifications, including a Diploma in Anaesthetics (DA), a Diploma in Child Health (DCH), and a Diploma from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRCOG). In addition to his clinical work, Dr Richards serves as an Adjunct Professor in the faculty of medicine at an Australian university, reflecting his commitment to medical education and ongoing professional development.
