Dr Catherine Langusch

Dr Catherine Langusch is a highly qualified General Paediatric Surgeon who provides comprehensive surgical care for infants, children, and adolescents. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, she manages a wide range of general paediatric surgical conditions, ensuring that young patients and their families feel supported throughout their treatment journey. Her clinical practice encompasses both routine procedures and complex surgical interventions, with a strong focus on delivering optimal outcomes tailored to the unique needs of developing children.

Dr Langusch graduated with First Class Honours from the University of New South Wales in 2003. She subsequently undertook extensive specialist training in Paediatric Surgery at several major tertiary paediatric centres across Australia, including leading children's hospitals in Sydney, Canberra, and Perth. In early 2014, she was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Paediatric Surgery. Following this, she served as a General Surgical Fellow at a prominent paediatric hospital, where she was recognised with the Tow Prize for clinical research. Dr Langusch is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and an active member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Paediatric Surgeons.

Dr Langusch holds an appointment as a Visiting Medical Officer at a major paediatric facility. In her clinical practice, she has a particular interest in paediatric and adolescent endocrine surgery, including thyroid procedures, as well as minimally invasive or "keyhole" techniques for abdominal and thoracic surgeries. Beyond her clinical commitments, she is deeply committed to medical education, regularly teaching and mentoring Medical Students, Junior Doctors, and Paediatric Surgical Trainees. She also frequently participates in national and international conferences to ensure her practice remains at the forefront of paediatric surgical advancements.
