Dr Chew completed his medical training at The University of Melbourne, earning his Bachelor of Medical Science and Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. He returned to Perth to complete his specialty training in ophthalmology, subsequently attaining Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. To further refine his expertise, he undertook advanced subspecialist Fellowship training in cornea and external eye diseases at a world-renowned eye centre in the United Kingdom. Dr Chew is an active member of several prestigious professional organisations, including the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the Global Education Research Society of Ophthalmology, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
