Dr Anthony Whelan

Dr Anthony Whelan is a highly dedicated Specialist Paediatrician who provides comprehensive, compassionate care for infants, children, and adolescents. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, he focuses on supporting families through the various stages of childhood development and health. Dr Whelan has extensive experience in managing a broad spectrum of general paediatric conditions, ensuring that each young patient receives tailored and evidence-based medical attention.

Throughout his career, Dr Whelan has developed particular expertise in several key areas of child health. His clinical interests include paediatric allergies, sleep medicine, and developmental paediatrics, with a focus on conditions such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorder diagnosis. Additionally, he is highly skilled in addressing complex feeding issues, infant nutrition, and eating disorders, working collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams to support young people experiencing challenges with eating, dieting, and body image.

Dr Whelan completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, as well as a Bachelor of Science with Honours, at the University of Sydney. He also holds a Diploma in Child Health. His postgraduate training was undertaken at major tertiary paediatric hospitals, and he gained further clinical experience working across numerous paediatric and neonatal units.
