Dr Anthony Maloof is a highly qualified and respected Ophthalmologist who specialises in advanced corneal and oculoplastic surgery. Dr Maloof completed his medical degree with Honours (MBBS Hons) and undertook his basic medical training. Dr Maloof completed his specialty training in Ophthalmology under the guidance of the late Professor Fred Hollows, before spending three years in England to acquire advanced surgical skills in the dual fields of corneal and oculoplastic surgery. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). Additionally, he is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeons (ANZSOPS). During his training, he was honoured with the inaugural Cedric Cohen Medal.
Throughout his career, Dr Maloof has been at the forefront of ophthalmic innovation, introducing advanced surgical techniques to Australia, such as layered corneal transplantation. He is also the developer of patented technology designed to prevent complications following cataract surgery. Dr Maloof adopts a holistic and collaborative approach to patient care, frequently working alongside other specialists, including Dermatologists, Endocrinologists, and Plastic Surgeons, to achieve the best possible outcomes.
