I was asked to come in early way b4 my appt time at 1.40 on 9th Sept. I arrived at around 11 am and was not seen br Dr untill 2.15. In that waiting time no staff member came to speak to me about the hold up. I approached the front desk to ask but no one coukd enlighten me as to the delay. I nearly left but as i had made my visit there from the southcoast i decided to stay.

Cataract surgery wentvery smoothly. No issues.

Post op follow up appointment, staff was friendly and accomodating for my schedule

I had cataract surgery on both eyes. Surgeon and optometrists were great. However, the post op instructions need better guidance on the use of Maxidex - which led to complications and a visit to the Sydney Eye Hospital ED in my case. The instructions said "The bottle should last 28 days". It said nothing about what to do after 28 days. Nor did it say that it was hazardous to simply stop taking Maxidex without a taper. The instructions need to be revised please.

Everything is fine

Whilst the ratings were all 5 star, there were a few issues at both CBD and Mudgee sites. Initial contact was Mudgee site and even after declaring I would be a public patient. I was booked to see Prof. Bala on a “private” day. The next booking was several weeks later, Prof. Bala was a no show. However, received good service from Dubbo branch. Then we heard nothing for weeks so called Dubbo to be told the results had been sent to Dubbo Base hospital and I was placed on a list for action in 365 days. In November this year I was told by my doctor that I was not capable to drive because of my bad eyesight and my driving licence was cancelled. I travelled to CBD site and met Prof. Bala who persuaded me to go private and we had both eyes seen to. That was brilliant service on both occasions. However, after the second eye was done we requested for the bandage removed to be done at CBD and we sent to Parramatta Eye clinic which was really inconvenient as we had no car and had catch a train and walk to the clinic. Finally, the claim on Medicare for our rebate through the CBD site was submitted incorrectly stating we had not settled the account us paying 2 weeks in advance. This ment we had to wait until Medicare sent the cheques for Prof. Bala and the Anethitist (sp) was received. Some 3 weeks later. I spoke to the Administrator several times to get us paid prior to receiving the cheques fell on deaf ears.
