Dr Harrisberg completed his undergraduate medical training in South Africa before relocating to Australia, where he undertook his medical and surgical residency at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Dr Harrisberg’s career highlights include being the first Australian surgeon to implant the Rayner EMV lens in 2021, the first to implant a sulcus-based intraocular lens, and the first in Australia to introduce the Schiaroth Macular Lens (SML) for macular degeneration in 2018. Dr Brian Harrisberg is professional in all patient interactions. He makes cataract surgery clear, easing worries and building trust. Patients call him an amazing, caring, and skilled doctor, and a true patient advocate. Many patients report successful results after cataract procedures.
I can't praise Dr Harrisberg highly enough. I initially came to see him simply for a second opinion and some possible reassurance about the likely success or potential risk of a procedure. I had literally been living in fear for a very long time, having been warned of the worst case scenario of losing my sight. Dr Harrisberg was the most positive and confidence-inspiring health professional you could hope to meet - to the point that, in a life-changing moment, he convinced me to undergo the procedure there and then. He performed the laser surgery himself with outstanding results. My vision is now enormously and immediately improved and the dread and fear totally lifted. Thank you so much Dr Harrisberg for your patience, positivity and expertise. It's impossible to overstress what a difference this has made to my life.
