Dr. Anisha Sarkar

Dr. Anisha Sarkar is a highly dedicated Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who provides compassionate, evidence-based care for patients across all stages of life. With a patient-centred approach, she is committed to creating a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment where every individual feels heard, supported, and empowered to make informed decisions about their health. Dr. Sarkar works collaboratively with patients, families, and referring clinicians to deliver individualised care that addresses the physical, emotional, and psychological aspects of wellbeing.

Dr. Sarkar completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Monash University. She then undertook extensive specialist training at leading tertiary women's hospitals in Victoria, followed by an advanced fellowship in paediatric and adolescent gynaecology at a major children's hospital in Melbourne. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Additionally, she maintains active memberships with the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery society and the Australia and New Zealand Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology Society, and she serves as an Honorary Research Fellow.

Her clinical practice encompasses a broad spectrum of general and complex gynaecological care. Dr. Sarkar has a special interest in paediatric and adolescent gynaecology, managing pubertal and developmental concerns, congenital anomalies, and vulval conditions. She is also highly experienced in managing menstrual irregularities, abnormal uterine bleeding, and cervical screening abnormalities, and she performs colposcopies. Her surgical expertise includes minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery for benign conditions such as ovarian cysts, pelvic pain, endometriosis, and hysterectomies. Furthermore, she is dedicated to providing inclusive, affirming care for transgender, gender-diverse, and non-binary individuals.
