Dr Andrew Ramsay is a highly qualified General Surgeon and Laparoscopic Surgeon who brings a wealth of diverse medical experience to his patients. Having previously worked as a regional General Practitioner, Dr Ramsay possesses a unique perspective that allows him to understand his patients' needs from a holistic standpoint. He is dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive care, ensuring that each patient feels supported from their initial consultation through to their postoperative recovery.

With a strong clinical focus on gastrointestinal and obesity surgery, Dr Ramsay specialises in advanced laparoscopic, or keyhole, surgical techniques. His areas of expertise include minimally invasive procedures for hernia repair, gallbladder disease, and weight-loss management. Dr Ramsay graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Melbourne in 1977. Following his graduation, he undertook extensive postgraduate training both in Australia and internationally, obtaining a Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Additionally, he holds professional membership with the Australia and New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgery Society, reflecting his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of surgical practice.
