Dr Andrea McGlade

Dr Andrea McGlade is a highly dedicated Specialist Developmental Paediatrician who provides comprehensive, family-focussed care for children facing complex developmental, behavioural, medical, and mental health challenges. With a compassionate and reassuring approach, she works closely with families to design long-term, holistic strategies that support each child in reaching their full potential. Dr McGlade utilises a self-regulation framework to understand the underlying drivers of a child's behaviour, helping parents implement practical strategies that foster resilience and promote calm, effective learning.

In her clinical practice, Dr McGlade is known for her engaging and child-friendly approach, which often incorporates informal, play-based developmental assessments. Her expertise spans a wide range of paediatric concerns, with a particular focus on supporting children who have experienced trauma, as well as those navigating autism spectrum disorder and developmental vulnerabilities. She has extensive experience working across both public and private healthcare settings, including collaborating with diverse communities to deliver tailored, empathetic care.

Dr McGlade graduated from Monash University in 1998, earning her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with Honours. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), holding dual accreditation in general and community paediatrics. Committed to advancing the field of child health, she completed a Master of Public Health (MPH) at the University of Queensland in 2008 and is currently undertaking a PhD focusing on early life trajectories, developmental vulnerability, and autism spectrum disorder.
