Dr Amanda Gwee

Dr Amanda Gwee is a Paediatrician. They are a general paediatrician, infectious diseases physician and clinical pharmacologist. Their research focuses on optimising the dosing of anti-infective agents in children, an area of increasing importance in the current era of emerging antimicrobial resistance. Another research priority is studying allergies to anti-infective drugs in children.

They are passionate about improving medication use in children and are involved in several international guideline/expert groups, including the European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases, WHO, and Therapeutic Guidelines. They created and lead the Australasian KIDS DOSE consortium, a network of paediatric clinician researchers across 17 hospital/research institutions in Australia and New Zealand, dedicated to improving equity in access to optimal antimicrobial use in children.

Dr Gwee was the editor of the 9th edition of the Royal Children's Hospital Paediatric handbook and is an editor for the Journal of Paediatrics and Child Health.
