About Dr Sam Mehr
Dr Sam Mehr is a Paediatric Allergist and Immunologist at Offspring Health with over a decade of experience. He completed his medical degree at the University of Melbourne in 1999 followed by his training at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne and the Children's Hospital at Westmead in Sydney. Dr Mehr is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australia (RCPA), as well as the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and is one of 20 Paediatric Immunologists to have completed training through the RACP in Allergy and Immunology.
Dr Mehr also has appointments at The Royal Children's Hospital as a Consultant Staff Specialist in Allergy and Immunology, the Children's Hospital at Westmead as an Honorary Medical Officer and at Dorovitch Pathology as an Immunopathologist. At Offspring Health, Dr Mehr provides clinical care to infants, children and adolescents with a range of allergies and immune conditions, including the following:
- Food, insect and drug allergies
- Hayfever (allergic rhinitis)
- Severe eczema
- FPIES (food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome)
- Periodic fever
- Immunodeficiency
- Eosinophilic esophagitis
Outside of his clinical work, Dr Mehr is the Sub-editor of the Journal of Paediatrics and Child Health and sits on various committees.

Sam is experienced, knowledgeable and responsive - Sam has the unique ability to be child centred whilst still empathising with the parent and supporting both children and parents navigate difficult and upsetting medical conditions and treatment plans. Sam cares for/treats both of our children and has supported our eldest child for eight years navigating life threatening food allergy, chronic eczema and asthma (against the complicated back drop of allergic eye disease). We are so appreciative (and relieved) to have Sam's expertise in our children's lives!
Dr Mehr was recommended to us for support with my son's hayfever allergy and he clearly outlined the options and was available when we had questions.
