Dr Alistair Varidel

Dr Alistair Varidel is a highly skilled, Australian-trained Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who provides comprehensive, patient-focused care. With dual qualifications in both dentistry and medicine, Dr Varidel is uniquely equipped to address complex conditions affecting the mouth, jaws, face, and neck. He is dedicated to helping patients achieve optimal functional improvements and aesthetic confidence, combining technical precision with a compassionate, reassuring approach to patient care.

Dr Varidel completed his Bachelor of Dental Science at the University of Queensland before moving to New South Wales to obtain his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Sydney, graduating in 2015. He then pursued advanced specialty training in oral and maxillofacial surgery across Adelaide and Hobart, culminating in a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. To further refine his expertise, Dr Varidel completed a prestigious year-long fellowship in cleft and craniofacial surgery in Boston, followed by a second fellowship in orthognathic and facial trauma surgery in Melbourne. He also holds a Master of Surgery.

Currently practising as a Consultant Surgeon in both public and private settings, Dr Varidel offers specialised care across the full spectrum of oral and maxillofacial conditions. His clinical interests include corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), the management of facial asymmetry, cleft lip and palate, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pathology. He is also highly experienced in performing wisdom teeth extractions, dental implant placement, bone grafting, and treating salivary gland conditions and oral lesions. Dr Varidel is committed to utilising cutting-edge, evidence-based techniques to ensure his patients receive the highest standard of care in a safe and supportive environment.
