Dr Alexandra Shannon

Dr Alexandra Shannon is a dedicated Specialist General Practitioner who is committed to providing comprehensive, evidence-based medical care. She strives to create a warm, inclusive, and judgement-free environment for all her patients, ensuring they feel supported and respected throughout their healthcare journey. With a patient-centred approach, Dr Shannon values the opportunity to build long-term relationships with individuals and families, supporting them through various stages of their lives.

Dr Shannon completed her medical education at the University of Melbourne, graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, alongside a Bachelor of Medical Science in public health. Following her university studies, she achieved fellowship status with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. To further her expertise, she also obtained a postgraduate Diploma in Child Health.

In her clinical practice, Dr Shannon has pursued extensive additional training to address a diverse range of patient needs. Her areas of clinical interest include women's health, men's health, children's health, and mental health. She is highly supportive of neurodiverse individuals and the LGBTQIA+ community, offering both neuroaffirming and gender-affirming care. Additionally, Dr Shannon is an approved prescriber of medicinal cannabis, allowing her to offer tailored treatment pathways for eligible patients.
