Dr Alexandra Hepson

Dr Alexandra Hepson is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, evidence-based healthcare to patients of all ages and backgrounds. With a warm and reassuring approach, she is committed to supporting individuals and families through every stage of life. Dr Hepson prides herself on delivering inclusive care, creating a safe and welcoming environment for all patients, including LGBTQIA+ and gender-diverse individuals.

As a General Practitioner with a diverse range of clinical interests, Dr Hepson focuses particularly on women's health, as well as babies' and children's health. Her expertise in women's health encompasses preconception and pregnancy planning, antenatal shared care, contraception consultations, and the insertion and removal of Mirena intrauterine devices (IUDs) and Implanon implants. She also provides support for medical termination of pregnancy, pelvic pain, period concerns, and perimenopause and menopause management. For infants and children, Dr Hepson offers specialised care in breastfeeding support, infant sleep difficulties, newborn check-ups, immunisations, and developmental assessments.

Dr Hepson completed her medical education at James Cook University, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 2015. She went on to achieve Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2020. Committed to continuous professional development, she has undertaken additional postgraduate training, obtaining a Diploma of Child Health, alongside further certifications in reproductive and sexual health, breastfeeding support, and infant sleep. She is also accredited to provide shared antenatal care.
