Dr. Ailsa Wilson Edwards

Dr. Ailsa Wilson Edwards is a urological surgeon with a special interest in functional and female urology. Dr. Wilson Edwards completed specialist urology training in Brisbane. This was followed by a fellowship at University College London Hospital at the Institute of Urology (London) where Dr. Wilson Edwards subspecialised in Female and Reconstructive Urology. Dr. Wilson Edwards developed expertise in surgical treatments for urinary incontinence, fistula, urethral diverticulum, neuromodulation, pelvic pain, and fluoroscopic urodynamics.

Dr. Wilson Edwards was the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ)-nominated representative for the Medical Benefits Schedule (MBS) review of Urogynaecology items. They are a member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ) Female Urology Special Advisory Group. Dr. Wilson Edwards is the principal urologist of the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) Functional Urology Service, and Urology representative in the NALHN Pelvic Floor Multidisciplinary Service. They are also a member of the Calvary North Adelaide Medical Advisory Committee and a peer-to-peer mentor for Medtronic (Pelvic Health).

Dr. Wilson Edwards has published internationally and was awarded the inaugural USANZ Arnold-Low Prize in 2016 for their work as national lead investigator on the randomised controlled trial of biofeedback devices for pelvic floor muscle training.
