Dr Peter Penkoff is an Australian-trained Consultant Urological Surgeon with a strong subspecialty focus on robotic and minimally invasive urology. His practice covers both general urological conditions and complex cancer surgery, with particular experience in disorders affecting the prostate, kidneys, bladder and urinary tract.
Dr Penkoff’s practice centres on the surgical management of prostate, kidney and bladder conditions, with a particular emphasis on urological cancers, kidney stones and complex urinary tract problems. He also treats patients with enlarged prostate, lower urinary tract symptoms, scrotal conditions, varicocele and other general urological concerns. His experience in robotic, laparoscopic and open surgery allows treatment to be tailored to the individual patient, especially where minimally invasive techniques may offer advantages in recovery and precision.
After completing Australian specialist urology training, Dr Penkoff undertook a urological oncology fellowship in Sydney before spending a dedicated year in the United Kingdom as a Robotic Urology Fellow. He subsequently completed further robotic training at OLV Hospital in Belgium and the ORSI Academy, strengthening his expertise in complex robotic oncology and reconstructive procedures.
Dr Penkoff has authored journal articles, submitted research abstracts, presented at national and international meetings, and contributed a book chapter on laparoscopic partial nephrectomy. He is a member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ), European Association of Urology (EAU), and American Urological Association (AUA).
Dr Penkoff’s practice is built around choosing the surgical method that best fits the patient’s diagnosis, anatomy and treatment goals. His background in open, laparoscopic and robotic urology gives him flexibility when planning complex cancer, stone and reconstructive procedures, while his ongoing involvement in research and international training supports the use of contemporary surgical techniques
