Dr Talia completed his undergraduate Bachelor of Biomedicine with Honours and his Doctor of Medicine with Distinction at The University of Melbourne, receiving Dean's Honours for both degrees. During his early medical career, he also completed a Graduate Diploma in Surgical Anatomy and a Master of Surgery majoring in research methodology. After completing his specialist training in Victoria and obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Dr Talia pursued extensive post-fellowship training overseas. This included a highly regarded subspecialty fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery in Oxford, United Kingdom, as well as a clinical and research fellowship in Basel, Switzerland. He is a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and holds active memberships with the Australian Medical Association, AO Trauma, the International Bone Research Association, the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, and the Australian Orthopaedic Trauma Society.

With a strong commitment to clinical excellence and academic research, Dr Talia treats a broad spectrum of lower limb conditions. His clinical interests encompass complex ankle reconstructions, joint-preserving procedures, and corrective surgeries for deformities such as flatfoot and bunions. He is highly skilled in managing acute sports injuries, fractures, and degenerative conditions like arthritis.
