Dr Adam Hutchison

Associate Professor Adam Hutchison is a highly accomplished Consultant Cardiologist and Interventional Cardiologist based in Geelong, Australia. He provides comprehensive care in both general and interventional cardiology, focusing on the diagnosis, management, and treatment of complex cardiovascular conditions. Associate Professor Hutchison is particularly dedicated to the rapid diagnosis and management of acute coronary syndromes, ensuring that patients receive timely and life-saving interventions when experiencing critical cardiac events.

In addition to his clinical practice, Associate Professor Hutchison is deeply involved in medical education and clinical research. He serves as a Senior Clinical Lecturer, supervising and mentoring the next generation of medical and cardiology trainees. He also contributes to the profession as an Examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. His research contributions are highly regarded, notably his pivotal role in the MonAMI study, which focused on enabling emergency services to definitively diagnose ST-elevation myocardial infarctions to expedite critical, hospital-based therapies.

Associate Professor Hutchison completed his medical training at Monash University, where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and subsequently completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). He furthered his academic credentials at Harvard University, graduating with a Master of Public Health (MPH). He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a Fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (FCSANZ). Additionally, he holds a fellowship with the American Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention, reflecting his international standing and commitment to excellence in interventional cardiac care.
