Dr Abhirup Lobo

Dr Abhirup Lobo is a highly trained Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in disorders of the hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, shoulder, and peripheral nerves. With a patient-centred approach, he is dedicated to providing reassuring and comprehensive care for both adults and children. Dr Lobo has a particular interest in treating traumatic upper and lower limb injuries, utilising advanced, minimally invasive techniques such as endoscopy and arthroscopy to ensure optimal recovery and outcomes for his patients.

Dr Lobo completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery alongside a Bachelor of Medical Science, graduating with honours from the University of Melbourne. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Anatomy. Committed to achieving the highest standards of clinical excellence, he completed three prestigious post-fellowship training programmes in hand and wrist surgery. These fellowships, undertaken in Melbourne, Perth, and the United Kingdom, allowed him to refine his skills in complex joint replacement surgery of the hand, wrist, and elbow, as well as peripheral nerve and brachial plexus surgery. His dedication to training was recognised when he was awarded the Training Registrar of the Year award.

As a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, Dr Lobo maintains active engagement with the latest advancements in his field. He also holds a Post-Fellowship Education and Training qualification in Hand and Wrist Surgery.
