Dr. Aanchal Gupta

Dr. Aanchal Gupta is a highly accomplished Ophthalmologist who specialises in cataract, corneal, and refractive surgery. Based in Dulwich, Australia, she is dedicated to providing personalised, patient-focussed care to help individuals achieve optimal vision. Dr. Gupta is widely recognised for her exceptional surgical skills and her commitment to utilising state-of-the-art technology to deliver life-changing visual outcomes. As a leading Cataract, Corneal, and Refractive Surgeon, her clinical focus encompasses advanced vision correction procedures, including laser eye surgery and lens-based refractive solutions, tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.

Dr. Gupta completed her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Monash University in 2003, followed by a Master of Medicine in Ophthalmic Science in 2008 and a Graduate Diploma in Refractive Surgery in 2013 from the University of Sydney. She undertook prestigious fellowship training in refractive and corneal surgery at the University of British Columbia in Canada. Dr. Gupta became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) in 2013 and is also a Fellow of the World College of Refractive Surgery and Visual Sciences. She actively contributes to her field as a member of several professional bodies, including the Cornea and Contact Lens Society of Australia, the Australasian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Australia and New Zealand Cornea Society.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Gupta is a passionate educator and leader in the ophthalmic community. She serves as the Director of Training for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) in South Australia and is a Senior Clinical Lecturer. As a pioneering Surgeon, she was the first in Australia to perform vision correction using the Allotex Inlay, and she introduced several cutting-edge techniques to South Australia, such as corneal allogenic intrastromal ring segments (CAIRS) and Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK). Dr. Gupta is also an active researcher, contributing to peer-reviewed publications and presenting regularly at national and international conferences.
