Dr Yee Cheah

Dr Yee Cheah is an accomplished Consultant Diabetologist and Consultant Physician who specialises in Endocrinology & Diabetes. Providing comprehensive care for patients with complex metabolic and hormonal conditions, Dr Cheah is dedicated to improving patient quality of life through personalised, evidence-based management plans. His practice encompasses a wide spectrum of endocrine disorders, with a primary emphasis on advanced diabetes care and metabolic health.

Dr Cheah has developed extensive clinical expertise in the management of type 1 diabetes, inpatient diabetes, and severe hypoglycaemia. He possesses a particular clinical interest in cutting-edge diabetes technology, including continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), insulin pump therapy, and hybrid closed-loop insulin delivery systems. Furthermore, Dr Cheah is highly skilled in specialised procedures such as islet cell transplantation, whole pancreas transplantation, and auto-islet transplantation following pancreatectomy for chronic pancreatitis. Through structured education initiatives and tailored therapeutic strategies, he helps patients effectively manage hypo unawareness and achieve optimal glycaemic control.

Dr Cheah completed his medical degree (MB BChir) and Master of Arts (MA) at Cambridge University in 2000. He subsequently earned a Master of Science (MSc) and completed a PhD focused on insulin resistance and appetite regulation. He completed his higher specialist training in Diabetes and Endocrinology alongside General Internal Medicine. Dr Cheah holds prestigious professional memberships, including being a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and serves on the executive board for the DAFNE structured diabetes education programme.
