Dr William Moody

Dr William Moody is a dedicated Consultant Cardiologist with an outstanding clinical background in advanced cardiovascular imaging and heart muscle disease. Known for his compassionate and patient-centred approach, Dr Moody provides thorough diagnostic evaluations and tailored treatment strategies for patients presenting with complex cardiovascular conditions. As an established Clinical Lead and Director in cardiovascular imaging, he is committed to delivering high-quality cardiac care that empowers patients to understand and effectively manage their heart health.

In clinical practice, Dr Moody specialises in multi-modality cardiac imaging, inherited cardiac conditions, and cardiomyopathies. His specific areas of expertise include cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, transoesophageal echocardiography, nuclear cardiac imaging, cardiac amyloidosis, and cardiac sarcoidosis. He plays an integral role in structural heart valve programmes and possesses sub-specialty expertise in sports cardiology, assisting individuals with cardiovascular conditions to safely participate in physical activity at both recreational and competitive levels.

Dr Moody completed his medical education at the University of Birmingham, graduating with a First Class Honours Bachelor of Medical Science in Cardiovascular Sciences in 2002 and qualifying with Honours in Medicine (MBChB) in 2005. He achieved Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP UK) in 2008 and was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cardiovascular Sciences from the University of Birmingham in 2015. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC), holding formal professional accreditations in advanced echocardiography, cardiac magnetic resonance, and nuclear cardiology.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Moody is an active researcher and contributor to national cardiac practice guidelines, regularly presenting at international medical conferences. His dedication to advancing non-invasive diagnostic techniques ensures that patients benefit from the latest evidence-based care, facilitating accurate early diagnosis and optimised long-term health outcomes.
