Dr Wafaa Ahmed is an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist and Pancreatobiliary Endoscopist specialising in advanced hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) medicine, with expertise in ERCP, EUS, and complex biliary and pancreatic disorders. Trained within internationally recognised tertiary referral centres including King's College Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare and Leeds Teaching Hospitals with dedicated post-CCT fellowships in advanced pancreatobiliary endoscopy and interventional EUS.
Dr Wafaa Ahmed provides comprehensive, patient-centred care for a broad range of pancreatic, biliary, and gastrointestinal conditions, including complex gallstone disease, biliary strictures, pancreatic cysts, pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer pathways, indigestion, acid reflux, abdominal pain, and changes in bowel habits. She is experienced in delivering high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy within high-volume tertiary services, with a strong focus on safety, technical excellence, minimally invasive intervention, and multidisciplinary management.
Alongside her clinical practice, she is widely published in leading gastroenterology journals. In addition to this she is actively involved in shaping UK and European endoscopy practice through leadership roles within the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) and the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE), including work on ERCP quality standards, training curricula, and EUS performance measures.
