Dr Vasiliki Panteli

Dr Vasiliki Panteli is an accomplished Consultant Paediatric Ophthalmologist specialising in the comprehensive care of children with complex eye and vision disorders. With expertise spanning general ophthalmology and paediatric neuro-ophthalmology, she focuses on diagnosing and managing conditions that affect the optic nerve, eye movements, and visual pathways. Dr Panteli works collaboratively alongside multidisciplinary specialist teams to deliver tailored, compassionate care that supports young patients and their families throughout their medical journey.

Her clinical focus encompasses complex strabismus (squint), nystagmus, cerebral visual impairment, and neurological eye conditions, including optic neuritis, idiopathic intracranial hypertension, and cranial nerve palsies. Dr Panteli provides surgical interventions, such as complex strabismus surgery and specialised procedures like Kestenbaum surgery for eye movement disorders. She also offers comprehensive management for children presenting with craniofacial anomalies and neuro-developmental visual concerns, ensuring that every patient receives individualised clinical assessment and treatment.

Dr Panteli earned her medical degree from the University of Patras in 2003 before completing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). She finished her specialty training in Ophthalmology in 2012, followed by advanced subspecialty fellowship training in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Surgery recognised by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. She is a Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO) and an active member of the British and Irish Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Association (BIPOSA).
