Dr Tracey Baird

Dr Tracey Baird is a highly dedicated Consultant Neurologist based in Glasgow, specialising in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of neurological conditions. With a primary focus on stroke medicine and acute neurological care, she provides expert, reassuring guidance to patients navigating complex brain and nervous system disorders. Dr Baird is committed to delivering person-centred care, ensuring that each patient receives a comprehensive and tailored treatment plan.

Throughout her distinguished career, Dr Baird has developed extensive expertise in hyperacute and acute stroke care, transient ischaemic attacks (TIAs), and general neurology. Her clinical work is complemented by a strong background in advanced stroke imaging and the implementation of stroke thrombolysis protocols. Beyond her direct clinical duties, she has made significant contributions to the wider medical community, notably serving as the Chair of a national standards development group that established key guidelines for neurological care and support in Scotland. She also actively supports medical education, mentoring the next generation of medical professionals through student-led neurological societies.

Dr Baird completed her undergraduate medical training and went on to pursue specialist postgraduate training in neurology and stroke medicine. She was awarded her diploma and became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 1996. To further refine her expertise, she completed a prestigious postgraduate fellowship as a Stroke Fellow at a leading stroke unit in Melbourne, Australia, where she focused extensively on stroke imaging. Prior to her current consultant appointment, she gained valuable experience working within dedicated stroke and neurology units in both Belfast and Glasgow.
