Tom Ulset is a dedicated Physiotherapist whose passion for his profession was sparked during his time as a ski instructor in various countries including Britain, Australia, and Japan. Witnessing firsthand the impact of injuries, particularly knee and ACL injuries. This ignited his interest in sports-related physiotherapy.
After completing a BSc. in Sports and Exercise Sciences at the University of Birmingham, Tom pursued further education, obtaining an MSc. in Physiotherapy from the University of East Anglia. His professional journey led him to work at two major trauma centres in London, where he gained extensive experience in trauma orthopaedics, intensive care, medicine, musculoskeletal (MSK) outpatient care, and neurology.
At Guy’s and St Thomas’, Tom had the opportunity to specialise in MSK therapy, working with teams focused on spines, pain management, hydrotherapy, gym rehabilitation, and hand therapy. Additionally, he secured funding for a master's module in neuromuscular triage, further expanding his expertise.
Tom emphasises the importance of evidence-based practice in physiotherapy, drawing from his experience conducting research with Norwich City F.C. He is committed to utilising scientific research to inform and enhance his treatment approaches.
Tom's primary goal as a physiotherapist is to work collaboratively with motivated patients, guiding them through rehabilitation to achieve their specific goals and return to their desired level of activity. He finds fulfilment in helping individuals regain functionality and pursue their interests, making a meaningful impact on their lives.
