Tom Ulset is a dedicated Physiotherapist whose passion for his profession was sparked during his time as a ski instructor in various countries including Britain, Australia, and Japan. Witnessing firsthand the impact of injuries, particularly knee and ACL injuries. This ignited his interest in sports-related physiotherapy.
After completing a BSc. in Sports and Exercise Sciences at the University of Birmingham, Tom pursued further education, obtaining an MSc. in Physiotherapy from the University of East Anglia. His professional journey led him to work at two major trauma centres in London, where he gained extensive experience in trauma orthopaedics, intensive care, medicine, musculoskeletal (MSK) outpatient care, and neurology.
At Guy’s and St Thomas’, Tom had the opportunity to specialise in MSK therapy, working with teams focused on spines, pain management, hydrotherapy, gym rehabilitation, and hand therapy. Additionally, he secured funding for a master's module in neuromuscular triage, further expanding his expertise.
Tom emphasises the importance of evidence-based practice in physiotherapy, drawing from his experience conducting research with Norwich City F.C. He is committed to utilising scientific research to inform and enhance his treatment approaches.
Tom's primary goal as a physiotherapist is to work collaboratively with motivated patients, guiding them through rehabilitation to achieve their specific goals and return to their desired level of activity. He finds fulfilment in helping individuals regain functionality and pursue their interests, making a meaningful impact on their lives.

An incredibly talented physio. Cannot speak more highly of him, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed our sessions despite dealing with a very annoying injury that has impacted my own quality of life. Would recommend to anyone A++
Amazing! Answered all questions perfectly. Now several weeks from my operation and have gained so much mobility from his help and assistance. Couldn’t give enough superlatives to describe how amazing he has been.
My experience with Tom has been great - particularly with his understanding not to overload me with exercises
I received excellent care from Tom after my damaging my right knee in a skiing accident in February 2024, MCL tear, ACL damage. After a year of physio with Tom I had a successful ski week (five straight days) over New Years. Tom was knowledgable, thorough and patient - followed his care and exercises carefully - end state - good as new :)
I have been seeing Tom since my ACL rupture in October 2023. He has helped me through the post injury, pre-surgery, post-surgery, rehab, strengthening, and dynamic phases of the journey and has been exceptional throughout. Having done my other ACL some 6 years ago, I was quite upset and weary to be going the process all over again. Tom was positive and supportive, and adapted his explanations and programme considering I was aware of how a lot it went! He has been both professional and friendly, whilst displaying exceptional technical knowledge. He has a clear passion for his work.
Tom was great - understood my problem. He was knowledgeable, listened and provided great support and advice.
Tom was lovely as always, I really appreciate how he manages to address all of my questions even during a 30 minute appointment and still has time to demonstrate new exercises to make sure I understand them
Tom was friendly and most helpful. He listened carefully and identified the right treatment for my situation. Thank you Tom!
Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable - S&C plan delivered significant results with helpful weekly check ins.
