Ms Tolu Ekong

Ms Tolu Ekong is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon within the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. Her clinical expertise centres around addressing general surgery and colorectal conditions, with a particular interest in pelvic floor disorders.

Ms Ekong was appointed a Consultant in November 2024. Prior to this appointment, she completed a Post-CCT Fellowship in General and Colorectal Surgery, further developing advanced skills in colorectal procedures and complex surgical management.

She undertook her higher surgical training in General and Colorectal Surgery within the East of England Deanery. Throughout her surgical training, she gained broad experience across multiple areas of general surgical and colorectal diseases.

Ms Ekong completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Southampton in 2006. She holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Global Health and Global Surgery from King’s College London . She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons England (FRCS). She is passionate about patient-centred care, medical education and healthcare leadership.

Ms Ekong is pleased to offer management of a wide range of common general surgical procedures and specialist colorectal procedures including oelvic floor disorders.
