About Dr Theo Criswell
Dr Theo Criswell is a dedicated GP with a strong commitment to combining evidence-based medicine with a warm, unhurried, patient-centred approach to care. As a fifth-generation doctor, he values building long-term relationships with patients and supporting individuals and families through every stage of life, from child health to later-life and palliative care.
He completed his medical training with Honours and Distinction, receiving a Dean’s Commendation for excellence in undergraduate medicine. Following this, he undertook broad postgraduate training at Frimley Park Hospital and St George’s Hospital, London, gaining experience across a wide range of medical specialties. He enjoys the full scope of general practice, with particular interests in preventative medicine, musculoskeletal health, mental health, and sexual health.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr Criswell has a strong interest in medical education and research. He holds a Master’s degree in Medical Sciences and has published research in neuropathology. He also completed a postgraduate qualification in Medical Education and is a Fellow of Advance HE and a member of the Academy of Medical Educators. He continues to teach medical students as a tutor at City St George’s, University of London.
Dr Criswell also holds a Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine. He provides medical support for sporting events across the UK, with a particular interest in endurance sports.
Outside medicine, Theo enjoys music, tennis, golf and skiing, and lives in South London with his family.

Theo is my hero! He saved me from a lot of pain and a long wait. Truly exceptional.
Theo helped us on an urgent matter, late at night in a bank holiday Saturday. It was the best medical care I have received. Without question.
Theo has a very calm and considered manner. He takes his time to properly understand the problem and is clearly highly intelligent and extremely thoughtful. More importantly he is very knowledgeable. In short, my whole family find him extremely mature and an outstanding doctor.
The short experience of dealing with Dr Theo has been extremely positive. He has been delightful to have looking after me throughout, extremely caring and concerned, and going out of his way to explain medical matters to me. The one reservation I would have concerns an introduction to another doctor, based at a London clinic, who proved excessively expensive and insisted I got myself into the Cleveland Clinic for tests the same day when those tests demonstrated there was nothing major the matter. Other than that, it has been an absolute pleasure to deal with Dr Theo throughout.

I’ve been to Dr Criswell a few times now for a number of different reasons. Dr Criswell is without a doubt the most attentive, knowledgable and easy to talk to doctor I’ve ever had. He goes the extra mile to ensure the wellbeing of his patients and truly listens to and validates any concerns that are voiced. He explains things clearly and thoroughly and has been a massive help through a difficult period.
