Susan Julians is the Director and Practice Principal at Barbican Physio. She graduated from Guy’s Hospital School of Physiotherapy in 1990, before completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Academic and Practical Physiotherapy for Sport at the Royal London Hospital in 1994. In 1996, she earned a Master of Science Degree in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy from University College London.
Sue spent the first three years of her career working in the NHS, followed by two years at a Military Hospital. During this time, she was also the physiotherapist for Blackheath Rugby Football Club for four seasons. Since 1996, she has been in full-time private practice.
Initially focused on sports injuries, orthopaedics, and acute trauma, Sue’s career later led her to Harley Street, where she treated performers in musical theatre, and subsequently to the City in 2000, where she gained extensive experience working with office workers. She particularly enjoys treating challenging conditions, including chronic neck and back pain, repetitive strain injuries (RSI/WRULD), and pelvic girdle pain during pregnancy.
Recognised as a leading thinker in her field, Sue has recently been appointed as a staff writer for MSK magazine, where she writes opinion pieces each quarter on a variety of topics related to musculoskeletal health.

see earlier description. Absolutely first class practitioner
Excellent. Have visited Barbican Phyiso before and seen both Sue and Vanessa, both of whom have been invaluable with resolving back / leg issues. Am seeing them again now for new issue and can only say am equally as impressed. Very good at getting to the root cause of problems, great at listening and understanding and give plenty of time to the physical therapy, explaining the root cause and demonstrating exercises to do at home. Would highly recommend.
