Simona is: a) Extremely knowledgeable b) Her empathy level is very high c) She is very efficient and always helpful d) I am overseas a lot but Simona is always available for advice e) I was diagnosed with Myelodysplasia in 2006 f) I no longer attend Kings College because I have found Simona at Hammersmith Hospital much more attuned to my problems g) She is a treasure and the NHS is lucky to have her on board!

Doctor Deplano’s care support and attention to detail managing my condition and her follow up, has been , and is, in my long experience of the NHS, outstanding and unmatched ! I am extremely grateful to have her as my Haemotologist !

I have been seeing Dr Deplano for several months and she has diagnosed me with Polycythemia Vera - an uncommon form of blood cancer. This is a manageable condition but involves monthly blood tests and an injection. From the start of the process with venesection, she has explained each procedure clearly, provided further information to read up on at home and always answers any queries I may have promptly. She keeps my GP informed with my blood results.. Recently my monthly appointment coincided with a night of severe chest pain and upon seeing her she immediately organised a series of tests which were promptly actioned. My treatment under her care has been first class and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Dr Deplano is the best doctor I have ever had! I have had so many doctors in the past dismiss me and not want to help me; Dr Deplano is the only doctor I have had who has actually listened to my health issues and how they affect me. She then does as much as she can to help me resolve these issues. I have never come across a doctor who is so compassionate and caring! I couldn’t be more grateful that by some luck I managed to get her as my doctor, a rare gem that’s hard to find! She’s made me feel like I’m not just another number on her list of patients, a tick box … but a real person. She’s made sure that all my medical issues are attended to! She makes me feel seen and heard! I genuinely owe her so much because of her I am able to lead that little better quality of life of which I had none of before!

I live in the United States and have been through several examinations with doctors and hematologists in the USA. However, they did not identify any diagnosis despite my feeling awkward and concerned about my health. I decided to get a second opinion and contacted Dr Deplano. When I arrived in London from the USA and met Dr Deplano for the first time, she fully read all my medical records, was aware of my issues, and spent quality time with me to understand my symptoms. She did a more comprehensive test, and she diagnosed my health issue in less than a few days. She then spent a lot of time getting me an appointment for my problem before I returned to the USA. Dr Deplano managed to learn more about my health issue compared to six months in the USA with no diagnosis. I am very grateful to her and her colleagues for their help finding a treatment for my diagnosis.

I’ve known Dr Deplan since she started to treat me for my illness about 3 years . I couldn’t be in better hands, .she explained everything to me and very clearly. Wonderful doctor who is very caring and understanding and listen to what you have to say . I’m so lucky to have her treating me .always looking forward to seeing her not just because she’s my doctor, because she’s a friend. I feel so blessed to be one of her patients.
