Dr Simon Au, Consultant Endocrinologist and Diabetes Specialist, works at Lagan Valley Hospital and within private practice at the Hillsborough Clinic. He is a highly experienced physician with over 20 years of experience.
Dr Au began his medical education at Queen's medical school, graduating with his degree in medicine. He then went on to do his foundation medical training in Belfast and Cardiff, before moving on to do specialist training in Belfast. During his training years, he worked in several highly-respected hospitals including Royal Victoria hospital Belfast City hospital, Craigavon Area hospital, and Ulster Hospital.
Dr Au is also an active researcher, publishing articles on Insulin pulsatility and insulin resistance.
