Dr. Shaveta Mehta

Dr Shaveta Mehta is a highly distinguished Consultant Clinical Oncologist who specialises in the non-surgical management of complex malignancies. Her principal areas of clinical practice encompass central nervous system cancers, including primary and secondary brain tumours, as well as breast cancer. Dr Mehta is dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based, and individualised care to every patient, ensuring that each treatment strategy is tailored to achieve optimal clinical outcomes while preserving quality of life.

Dr Mehta completed her initial medical degree and earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in radiotherapy and oncology in 2005 at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research. Expanding her medical training in the United Kingdom, she obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP UK and MRCPI Ireland). She subsequently completed extensive research at the University of Oxford, culminating in the award of a PhD in Oncology in 2014. Following specialist higher clinical training, she attained Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) in 2017. Dr Mehta holds active professional memberships with the Royal College of Radiologists, the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (Brain Tumour Group), the European Association of Neuro-Oncology, and the British Neuro-Oncology Society.

Alongside her clinical duties, Dr Mehta is deeply engaged in clinical research and academic advancement, serving as an Honorary Senior Lecturer and holding senior leadership roles in regional cancer research delivery. As a principal investigator for numerous national and international clinical trials, she works to advance innovative therapeutic approaches, including advanced photon radiotherapy, proton beam therapy, and targeted systemic treatments. Her research focuses on optimising treatment efficacy and reducing side effects, reflecting her commitment to continually improving standards of care for cancer patients.
