Dr Shakti Thakur

Miss Shakti Thakur is a Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in medical retina, with nearly two decades of experience at consultant level. Her areas of interest include wet and dry macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion, diabetic eye disease and other retinal conditions.

Miss Thakur has a particular interest in assessing clinical outcomes and has presented real-world outcome data for patients with wet macular degeneration who had received treatment with different drugs over periods of three to five years. She has presented this evidence to commissioning boards and maintains an interest in developments in medical retina, including emerging treatments and medications.

Her approach to care centres on understanding each patient's individual needs and difficulties and providing appropriate treatment and advice.
