EyeMedics is a specialist ophthalmology clinic, built around a more personal model of eye care. Rather than moving patients between different clinicians, the service is led by Miss Shakti Thakur, Consultant Ophthalmologist and Medical Retina Specialist, who remains closely involved throughout assessment, treatment and follow-up. The clinic’s particular strength is the management of medical retinal disease and age-related macular degeneration, including access to Valeda light therapy for suitable patients with dry AMD.

Care at EyeMedics can include specialist ophthalmology consultation, medical retina assessment, review of retinal imaging, dry AMD evaluation, ongoing macular monitoring and individual treatment planning. A distinctive part of the service is the Valeda Light Delivery System, a non-invasive photobiomodulation treatment that uses selected wavelengths of light and is offered to appropriate patients with dry AMD following specialist assessment. Miss Thakur leads EyeMedics and has a particular professional focus on retinal disease and macular degeneration.
