Mr Sanjay Taribagil

Mr Sanjay Taribagil is a Consultant General and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon with extensive expertise in laparoscopic and complex upper GI surgery. He graduated from Grant Medical College and Sir J.J. Hospital in 1989 before completing postgraduate surgical training and obtaining a Master of Surgery from the University of Mumbai in 1992.

Mr Taribagil later moved to the UK, where he completed higher surgical training in North East London and was awarded the FRCS (General Surgery) in 2008. He also undertook advanced research at the Royal Free Hospital, a centre recognised for research in nanotechnology, and was subsequently awarded an MD by University College London in 2013.

His clinical practice covers all aspects of general and upper gastrointestinal surgery, with particular expertise in laparoscopic and open complex hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, anti-reflux procedures, benign gastric surgery, and upper GI endoscopy. He has extensive experience in minimally invasive upper GI surgery and focuses on delivering safe, evidence-based surgical care tailored to individual patient needs.

Alongside his surgical practice, Mr Taribagil is actively involved in medical education and training. He serves as a clinical and educational supervisor for foundation trainees at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Gateshead and is recognised for his commitment to supporting the development of junior doctors and future surgeons.
