Mr Sanj Gupta

Mr. Sanjeev Gupta is a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgeon and the ENT Team Lead at Sheffield Children's Hospital (SCH), specialising in paediatric airway surgery and voice disorders. He completed his medical and surgical training in London and furthered his expertise with a prestigious Clinical and Research Fellowship in Paediatric ENT at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in 2015-2016. Mr. Gupta also gained valuable international experience through a clinical observership in paediatric ENT and airway surgery at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, USA, in 2014.

Since joining SCH in December 2016, Mr. Gupta has taken on several leadership roles. Appointed as the ENT team clinical lead in August 2022, he also heads the multidisciplinary tracheostomy service and has played a key role in improving clinical coding. He previously served as the audit and governance lead within the ENT department. With a passion for education, he provides supervision and training to ENT senior clinical fellows, as well as ENT and GP speciality registrars in the South Yorkshire ENT and GPSTP rotations in the Yorkshire and Humber Deanery. He is also an examiner at national recruitment interviews for ENT surgical trainees and FRCS examination courses and holds the position of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Medical Education at the University of Sheffield.

Mr. Gupta is committed to service improvement within the NHS and has contributed to the development of anaesthetic guidelines for pain relief after tonsillectomy and clinical guidelines for day case tonsillectomy at SCH. He is also involved in providing Human Factors and Team Resource Management training to enhance healthcare delivery.
