Mr Rodney Blumenfeld

Mr Rodney Blumenfeld is an experienced Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon specialising in refractive surgery and cataract procedures. He has performed tens of thousands of refractive surgery operations and has particular expertise in LASIK and LASEK laser eye surgery.

He holds the Certificate of Refractive Surgery from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and is recognised for his experience in vision correction procedures and cataract surgery.

Mr Blumenfeld was born and educated in South Africa and graduated in medicine from the University of the Witwatersrand. During his ophthalmology training, he was awarded the medal for best student in ophthalmology and subsequently worked as a Registrar at St John Eye Hospital, where he completed five years of specialist ophthalmic training.

He later gained ophthalmic experience in the UK through roles at several hospitals, including Western Eye Hospital, hospitals in Kent, Royal Victoria Infirmary Newcastle, and Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

Mr Blumenfeld provides consultations and performs surgery through Optical Express clinics across the UK, including Glasgow, Dundee, Harley Street London, and Newcastle. His clinical focus includes laser vision correction and cataract surgery.
