Dr Robin Wilson

Dr Robin Wilson is a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist at Priory Hospital Roehampton with extensive experience across general adult psychiatry, inpatient and community services, rehabilitation psychiatry, and addiction services.

He has worked across a wide range of specialist mental health settings within South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, including the National Psychosis Unit at Bethlem Royal Hospital, acute inpatient services, psychiatric intensive care, rehabilitation teams, and high-support rehabilitation services. He has also provided psychiatric care within primary care networks and substance misuse services.

Dr Wilson graduated from University College London Medical School in 2004, having previously completed an intercalated BSc (Hons) in Psychology. He undertook specialist psychiatry training through the Maudsley rotation from 2007 to 2013 and gained Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2010.

From 2013 to 2021, he worked within the Psychosis Studies Department at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, researching the relationship between psychosis and cannabinoids.

His research has received funding from organisations including the Medical Research Council and the National Institute for Health and Care Research. He completed an MD Res in Psychological Medicine in 2020, supervised by Professor Sagnik Bhattacharyya, with research focusing on motivational salience, clinical high-risk states for psychosis, and the effects of cannabidiol.

Dr Wilson has co-authored 27 scientific publications and combines his clinical expertise with research knowledge to support patients experiencing complex psychiatric conditions, particularly psychosis and related disorders.
