About Mr Richard Pickard
Mr Richard Pickard is a Consultant Spinal Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in the assessment and treatment of back pain, neck pain and nerve-related spinal conditions. His practice covers a broad range of spinal procedures, with an emphasis on using the least invasive treatment appropriate for each patient.
His specialist spinal training included an advanced fellowship at the Oxford spinal centre, providing experience across complex and minimally invasive spinal surgery. He subsequently worked as a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at the John Radcliffe Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre before taking up his current NHS consultant role with Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.
Mr Pickard is the Frimley regional lead for the Thames Valley Spine Network and teaches on spinal training programmes across the UK. His previous military service also included deployment to Camp Bastion in Afghanistan as a Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon and the sole spinal surgeon in his team.
